WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Trump has ordered all CNN journalists and correspondents quarantined during the COVID-19 outbreak so that other reporters will have a chance to ask him relevant questions that make sense.
“I gave them every opportunity, every chance, every chance, to behave and they refused to do so,” Trump said. “I tell you this, I am a very fair, very generous guy — the most fair and generous president ever — but there is a limit to my patience, especially during a crisis, that I can tell you.
“That guy, Jim Acosta, that guy especially, he never asks smart questions. I don’t know, maybe it’s because he’s not a smart guy, I don’t know,” the president continued. “But look, I’m fair, I’m generous, but I mean, look, we can’t have what CNN is doing. They’re a disgrace, I can tell you that, what with the nonsensical questions.”
The president cited examples of CNN’s correspondents inquiring whether he really cared about sick people, if he would simply resign now and get it over with, and if he would be willing to get sick so that he had to resign.
Asked how long the CNN quarantine would last, the president said that depended on the length of the COVID-19 outbreak and whether Americans would even miss the network and notice that it was gone.
