(Charleston, S.C.) Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley has made a new campaign vow that is sure to get former President Donald Trump’s attention.
Speaking to a handful of supporters in her state’s capital this week, she vowed that she will remain in the race until her campaign bus runs out of fuel.
“I won’t just give up, go quietly into the night like the former president wants me to,” Haley vowed. “We still have a big bus and it’s got a really big fuel tank, and we’ve still got a ways to go before it’s empty, so there is no reason for Trump to expect me to drop out anytime soon.
“Of course, the timing of my eventual withdrawal will depend on how many more miles we’re gonna put on that bus,” she continued. “We are looking at doing a ‘basement campaign strategy’ that Joe Biden used with great success in 2020 as an alternative. That way the bus never runs out of gas this election cycle and I can continue to risk what future I have in the GOP on this effort.”
It’s not clear what the MPG is on Haley’s campaign bus actually is, so an estimate of when it would run out of diesel wasn’t possible by press time.
