(CAPITOL HILL) Hunter Biden appeared before a GOP-led House committee on Wednesday and immediately said he identified as a Republican in order to avoid being asked tough questions by the majority.
After being sworn in, the first son declared: “I sit before you today as a self-identified Republican. I understand that historically my political affiliation has been with my father’s Democratic Party, but I never really felt like I had a home there. I’ve always felt that I leaned more red than blue, and when I received my subpoena to testify about my whore-chasing, cocaine-snorting, foreign business dealing previous life, I knew right then and there that, in reality, I am a Republican.
“So not that I would ever tell you how to conduct your business and your hearing,” Hunter Biden continued, “but you should know that I’m really on your side here and was never against you – at least as long as the GOP holds the majority in the chamber.
“Feel free to ask me whatever you want, but keep in mind that you should only ask me questions that you, yourself, would want to be asked!” he said.
The White House did not respond to a request for comment.
