(BETHESDA, Md.) The physician tasked with performing President Joe Biden’s annual physical made a horrible mistake after he got his first glimpse of his patient at Walter Reed Medical Center.
Dr. Kevin O’Conner landed in some hot water after he contacted a funeral home in Biden’s home state of Delaware to “come pick up the body.”
“I’ve been a medical doctor for decades and I’ve never, ever made a mistake this big,” O’Conner said. “In my best judgment, though, the moment I laid eyes on the president, I truly thought that his time had come. And I knew if that were the case, the family would want me to make the arrangements.”
O’Conner said a few minutes into the phone call, Biden twitched and snorted while he was laying on the exam table, which caused the physician to jump somewhat and hang up the phone.
“Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad the president is okay and he passed his physical and everything,” said the doctor. “This is all my fault, not his. I’ve got to be more careful with my patients. Maybe I’m the one who’s getting too old to do the job anymore.”
Biden’s near lifeless body was taken out of the exam room by an ambulance crew and returned to the White House after he passed his annual physical with flying colors, the White House said.
