(WASHINGTON) First Lady Jill Biden has started wearing a lapel pin with the first couple’s last name on it when she accompanies President Joe Biden to campaign events so he remembers his name.
Asked about the handy yet subtle tip, the first lady was candid.
“I’m well aware that the White House physician has said that Joe doesn’t need a cognitive test, but we all know the truth — we can see it with our own eyes every day when he tries to speak,” Jill Biden admitted. “So I’m doing my part to help Joe fool enough Americans into voting for him again so I can spend another four years as the most powerful woman on the planet.
“We’ve already got the Secret Service assigning extra agents to catch him if he falls — you know he does that quite a lot — and so I wanted to take one responsibility off their hands because they are busy enough taking care of him as it is,” Jill Biden continued.
“And I’ll tell you, it’s already worked. We were at a campaign event last week and were it not for this handy little reminder, he would have forgotten who he was,” the first lady added. “He had already forgotten where we were, but I couldn’t find a big enough lapel pin of the state of South Carolina to wear on my jacket.
“Probably would have looked ridiculous anyway,” she admitted.
