(L.A. International Airport) Long-serving Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters moved quickly during a photo op with President Joe Biden to make sure everyone knew it wasn’t her after he appeared to break wind.
“I was just standing there waiting for all the photographers to finish up their picture-taking when I heard it,” Waters said. “I’ve heard all the rumors about the president having to wear a diaper or travel with extra trousers because he, you know, has ‘accidents.
“So when I heard what he did, you know, I can sympathize, but let’s be clear, it wasn’t me,” Waters continued. “My reputation is what it is, I don’t need to add nothing to it, especially something like that.
“I don’t know what happened when ‘it’ happened, but all I could think of was, I can’t get out of there fast enough. You know, the wind wasn’t blowing very much, and it was getting a little ripe there for a moment,” Waters continued.
“That’s why I wished the president well and moved out of there very quickly,” Waters added. “I wasn’t trying to disrespect him, I just couldn’t breathe!”
The White House had no comment.
