(Des Moines, Iowa) Conservative Americans are feeling the crunch these days under President Biden’s economic policies, with many wishing for “the good ol’ days” of 2022 when they only had to work two jobs to make ends meet.
“I thought times were tough back then, to be honest, but looking back now, it really wasn’t,” says Cole Slater, 47. In addition to his construction and Walmart greeter jobs, he has taken up street dancing for spare change and dollar bills.
“I have to really shake this moneymaker to make the street dancing pay off, but it could be worse, I guess,” he added. “Imagine if I couldn’t bust a move at all.”
Rita White, who now works three full-time jobs 20 hours a day, seven days a week, said she is just barely getting by now, whereas a few years ago, she could easily count on an extra $10-$20 every two weeks when she got paid.
“Yeah, those days are gone, that’s for sure,” the 38-year-old stewardess, bus driver, and beautician said, adding that her $250,000 a year combined salary would have been a small fortune as recently as 2020.
“There are a couple of days where I’ll have, like, an hour or two to myself and I’ve been thinking about selling hotdogs on the corner around lunchtime,” said White. “That would bring in some extra money, I think.”
The White House pushed back on the claims, however, and insisted that Biden’s economic policies were “highly successful even if Americans just don’t get see the results.”
