(WASHINGTON) Fiesty Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene trolled President Joe Biden during his State of the Union speech, daring him to say his own name.
“SAY YOUR NAME! SAY YOUR NAME!” the Georgia Republican yelled from the gallery.
At that point, the president stopped his speech as the chamber grew very quiet. He looked straight at MTG before declaring, “I’m Jill Biden’s husband!”
Democrats roared their approval at the accuracy of the president’s statement while goading Taylor Greene.
After the speech, Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) claimed: “That was a brilliant moment. The president was obviously in control of his faculties. If ever there was a better example of not being owned by a Republican, that was it. Masterfully done!”
Rep. Adam Smith (D-Wash.) agreed. “In all my time here in Congress, I’ve never seen such a slam-dunk! He nailed it! Who can argue with the fact that he is Jill Biden’s husband and has been for decades? It was just brilliant!”
