(WASHINGTON) Attorney General Merrick Garland announced a new Justice Department initiative to crack down on people who attend President Biden’s rallies but who “don’t show enough enthusiasm.”
“Today’s initiative marks the first time in our country’s history that our law enforcement division will be used to prosecute Americans who, for whatever reason, denied the president the support we think he deserves,” Garland said.
“Some might call this tyrannical. Some might call it an abuse of the justice system. Frankly, we call it ‘good politics,'” Garland added.
“Refusing to support the president during these highly divisive times will not be tolerated anymore. We’ve let this slide for far too long, and we’re not going to sit back and ignore this disrespect any longer,” he huffed. “Not sure who these people think they are, but they’re going to feel the hand of justice soon — well, justice as Democrats define it.”
At press time, it wasn’t clear who the DOJ planned to go after first, but an official said, “The list is long.”
