(WASHINGTON) White House aides have had President Biden’s name stitched on his travel jacket because he kept grabbing the wrong one when departing on trips.
“Sometimes he took the first lady’s jacket, sometimes he would grab a staffer’s jacket,” said press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre in explaining the development. “He would show up to events with a jacket that was either way too small or hanging off of him like a dress.
“So some of us got together and thought, ‘You know what would help? Putting his name on his jacket!’ So that’s what we did, and you know, it seems to have helped,” she said.
“He doesn’t grab the wrong jacket nearly as often as he used to, so we’re all feeling pretty good about ourselves,” Jean-Pierre said.
Asked about the change on the campaign trail, Biden denied that anything had changed and said reports that he was grabbing someone else’s jacket were false.
“C’mon, man! You guys don’t have anything better to report on?” he said, as he wore the jacket with his name on it.
