(YUMA, Ariz.) The Biden administration has announced that it will be installing subway-type turnstiles along border wall gaps to make it more inconvenient for migrants to cross illegally into the U.S.
“In response to the outcry surrounding President Biden’s open-border policies, he has authorized me to have these turnstiles installed in border wall gaps to make it less convenient for illegal crossers,” Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said. “This will make migrants think twice about breaking our immigration laws.
“Imagine the chokepoint this will create,” Mayorkas continued. “Migrants could have to wait in line an hour or more before actually being able to cross illegally, rather than coming over in groups of 100 or more. That will certainly stem the, shall we say, ‘invasion’ of our country.
“The president deserves credit for this plan,” the DHS boss continued. “He is continuing to work hard to keep Americans safe by delaying the arrival of illegal migrants by as much as 60 minutes. And that, he believes, will prove to be a deal-breaker for many migrants who won’t want to wait to break into our country.”
The White House said funding for the new turnstiles would be added to the national debt.
