(BETHLEHEM, Pa.) Members of a local hospital home for seniors were seen taking President Biden in from the rain after he wandered away from a campaign rally nearby.
Randall White, the home’s nursing supervisor, said a staffer happened to notice Biden wandering about in a light rain, “looking like a lost puppy who needed a friend.”
“We have no idea how he got here, but we couldn’t just let him continue wandering about,” White said. “We live in a pretty good community but you never know what could happen. And we’d have felt pretty bad if we hadn’t acted and something bad occurred.”
Asked if he voted for Biden in 2020, White demurred.
“You know, I won’t say whether I did or didn’t, but what’s important is that I believe we did the right thing here,” White responded. “Not sure if the Secret Service had the day off of what, but he was pretty helpless and, well, you know, we just felt like we had to do something.”
“And honestly, he can stay as long as he wants. He’s really no trouble. You know, we’re set up here for older folks in need like him,” White said with a wink and a chuckle.
