(WASHINGTON) White House officials said that President Biden’s latest fall was not due to his aged, deteriorating condition but was actually just a test of the administration’s safety measures.
“Oh, definitely, I agree it looked very real. And if I hadn’t known what was going on, I would have been very concerned about the president,” spokesman Karine Jean-Pierre explained. “But yeah, he was just testing out the new White House safety measures put in place in case he falls for real.
“Not that we ever expect to use these new measures. As anyone who is being fair will attest, there is nothing wrong with the president physically or mentally,” she continued. “In fact, and this has never been announced before, but these tests are ongoing. They began a couple of summers ago when it appeared to fall off his bike near his Delaware home.
“So keeping the president safe is a 24-hour, 365-day-a-year job, and this commander-in-chief has no problem helping us test out those measures from time to time, despite his busy schedule,” she added.
Asked where the president was after the latest ‘fall test,’ Jean-Pierre looked annoyed.
“It’s noon, okay? Y’all know he’s resting this time of day,” she said.
