(SACRAMENTO, Calif.) Gov. Gavin Newsom has signed legislation passed by the state Assembly that makes it a crime to be a resident of California if you’re a U.S. citizen.

“In our ongoing effort to attract third-world poor people so they will do our lawn work, pick our crops, clean our homes and offices, and other menial tasks for a lot less money, I gladly put my signature on this landmark legislation,” Newsom told assembled reporters, all of whom shuffled nervously as they prepared to race home and pack up to leave the Golden State.

“It’s about time we gave credit where credit is due. Lawful citizens of California didn’t build our state, illegals did. They always have, and now, they always will,” he continued. “With the stroke of a pen, I just cut labor expenses by 80 percent so that the top 1 percent of our residents — who, by the way, like me and the General Assembly, are exempt from this legislation — can enjoy an even higher quality of life at someone else’s expense.”

“The message of this bill is loud and clear: If you’re in this country, this state, legally and are an American, citizen, we don’t want you here. There are 49 other states where you can live and when you move to one of them, take your hatred and bigotry with you,” Newsome said.
