(WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.) In an effort to get President Biden to commit to a televised debate, former President Donald Trump offered to stay up for a week straight just to make it more fair.
“I’m the greatest debater ever, everyone knows that, so I have to make these sacrifices for the country in order to get ‘Sleepy Joe’ into the debate arena,” Trump told assembled reporters. “I’m the best. It’s tough to debate me. It’s tough. He knows that. So I’m offering to stay up for a whole week while he sleeps all he wants. All he wants.
“I don’t know what else I can do. I’m the greatest debater. The best. No one’s ever done it better than me. So I have to make these offers — some say ridiculous offers — just to get Sleepy Joe to debate me,” Trump continued. “Ridiculous offers. But I will do it. I will do it for the country.”
At press time, Biden’s campaign had not yet responded to Trump’s latest offer. Someone close to the campaign said, however, that Biden wouldn’t be making the final decision anyway, and that it would fall to those who are actually running the White House.
