(MIAMI) President Biden frustrated aides and Secret Service agents and was late to a big fundraiser here because he kept getting distracted by the “pretty birdies.”
“Most people don’t know this, but the president is actually an avid birdwatcher,” a spokeswoman said after Biden was three hours late to the event. “He gets very distracted by them and excitedly points them out to staff, especially the bright colored ‘pretty birdies’ as he likes to call them.
“Yeah, it does kind of frustrate aides and the Secret Service because we like to keep him on schedule, but he’s the president, and if it’s ‘pretty birdies’ he wants to watch and talk about, what are you gonna do? Can’t complain to him about it, the first lady will be all over you if you do,” the unnamed spokeswoman added.
“So really, it’s best to just let him get it out of his system — take as much time as he wants or thinks he needs — and then move on from there. It’s not even that it’s educational, but sometimes it’s kinda fun. It makes for a lot of jokes behind his back, if ya know what I mean,” the spokeswoman added.
