(MANHATTAN) New York Attorney General Letitia James seemed quite perturbed when former President Donald Trump rolled up to the courthouse and whipped out a $454 million payment to settle his bond.
“I couldn’t believe it, to be honest with you,” James told assembled reporters after Trump left. “That’s why I got the judge to levy that enormously unfair fine — because I never thought anyone could raise that kind of cash, not even him.
“I was so ready to stroll into Trump Tower as the new owner and start ordering people around who work there,” she continued. “Make ’em get me drinks from the bar, fluff my pillows at night, draw my bath, the things that really make me feel special. But I guess I’m gonna have to wait now.”
James went on to remind reporters that she campaigned in 2018 on ‘getting Trump,” adding, “And that’s what I intend to do.”
“This isn’t about justice — it never was,” she fumed. “It is 100 percent political and about exacting revenge on him for defeating my home state favorite, Hillary Clinton. So I hope the former president doesn’t get too comfy with his properties because I’m coming after them…and him!”
Before leaving, Trump noted that putting together the money “wasn’t that hard” because “I’m really rich.”
