(TEXAS-MEXICO BORDER) A Texas Army National Guard soldier has expressed relief at hearing from the Biden administration that the country’s not being invaded after being trampled by a horde of illegal immigrants.

Spc. Shane McDonald said he was “glad to hear that” after he was evacuated from the border region by a Medevac helicopter and transported for treatment at Ft. Sam Houston.

“For a moment there, I thought it looked like a full-blown invasion,” McDonald, who is recovering from his injuries, told reporters. “I guess I can see how I got that messed up. But the Pentagon has set me straight on that, as has the commander-in-chief, so I’ll know better next time to call being run over by dozens of illegal migrants something else.”

McDonald went on to talk about what led him to his conclusion.

“I was manning a section of fence with my battle buddies when all of a sudden, a large group of migrants removed the barrier and rushed at me,” he said. “I guess it was the fact that they were trampling me and were running into the country without actually going through a port of entry or getting permission.

“Honestly, anyone could have made that mistake, right?” McDonald, who could be suffering from PTSD, said, adding that he has already been scheduled for “immigrant sensitivity training” when he recovers.
