(NORTH LOS ANGELES) A growing number of liberal actors and actresses have vowed to leave the U.S. if Donald Trump wins another term, but only “virtually.”
“Look, we know how much better we have it in the United States than anywhere else in the world, so the cold, hard fact is, the vast majority of us who claim we’re ‘leaving’ if Trump wins are lying,” said one noted actor who spoke on anonymity to ensure he can continue working. “We all said it when Trump won the first time, and how many actually left? Okay?”
“Yeah, I’m not going anywhere physically, but I refuse to live in the real world with him as president, so I’m escaping to virtual reality,” said one top actress who also spoke on anonymity for the same reason — she wants to keep working.
“I was one of those who said I was bailing on America in 2016 after Trump beat our favorite candidate, Hillary Clinton. But as you can see, I didn’t go anywhere. And I’m not going to go anywhere. I’ve got it too good here. Why would I actually leave?” she added.
Still another actor noted that “while it makes for a good headline” and “keeps our far-left producers and movie-makers happy,” actually leaving isn’t an option.
“If Trump wins again, I’ll just get one of those virtual reality thingies,” the actor said. “That’s good enough. Then I can honestly say, ‘I’m not here!’ without actually moving.”
