(El Segundo, Calif.) The Mattel toy company has introduced a “Kamala Harris Action Figure” that is incapable of coherent speech and doesn’t accomplish anything.
“We wanted to put something out to commemorate the momentous and historic vice president — the first black/Asian female to serve in that position,” said a company statement accompanying the release of the figure. “What Ms. Harris does is nothing short of historic, whatever that may be between now and the time she leaves office.”
The statement said that developers wanted to make a replica of Harris that was as close to the real thing as possible.
“From her many memorable and often comical speaking engagements to her ability to convince President Joe Biden to give her more projects and assignments that languish uncompleted or unfulfilled for years, what’s true is that Vice President Harris checked a box for the administration that had been promised to supporters of the president from the moment he launched his 2020 campaign,” the statement added.
A Mattel representative added: “We also have an action figure that cackles uncontrollably.”
