(Washington) House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) vowed to impeach Melania Trump if husband Donald manages to win the November election.
“Look, I know this hasn’t been done before, and it’s not really in the Constitution, but my party doesn’t care much about that outdated piece of parchment, as our past and current actions have shown,” Jeffries told reporters.
“But clearly, she would be partially responsible for his victory if Donald Trump managed to win in November, and as such, if Democrats retake the House, we’d definitely want to look at holding her responsible,” he continued. “And maybe even Barron Trump as well.”
One reporter asked Jeffries if his statement was tantamount to a “threat to democracy.”
“Don’t go there with me!” he bellowed. “Democrats are the party of democracy — heck, it’s in our name — so we will do whatever we have to do in order to save democracy, even if it means making up some more rules as we go.”
“We don’t look at it as violating the rules or ‘harming democracy’ if it’s the Trumps we’re trying to stop!” he added.
