(New York City) Democrats expressed outrage that former President Donald Trump is being afforded the use of attorneys to represent him in the various cases filed against him.
“Never before in the history of this republic has someone so guilty been allowed to escape justice,” New York Attorney General Letitia James bellowed. “I’ve never seen anything like this in all my days since law school.”
“This is a complete abuse of the system,” added Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. “Just a complete abuse. But that’s all this guy does—abuse our justice system to fit his own needs. He’s got to go down.”
“I’ve known Trump for decades, and he’s always been this way,” noted Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY). “Always looking for an angle to escape responsibility. Hiring lawyers to defend him is just the latest example proving he doesn’t care about the country, only himself.”
“If he’s not guilty of anything, why does he need attorneys in the first place?” blared Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). “Lawyers are for guilty people!”
