(Carmel, Ind.) Former Vice President Mike Pence began a new chapter in his life, moving on from conservative politics as a gas station attendant at a local Circle K quick shop.
“Frankly, it’s an honor to serve, and by serve, I mean in whatever capacity I can,” Pence beamed proudly as he filled the tank of a customer’s Dodge Ram pickup. “It’s decent money, I get to interact with people all day, and if I’m lucky, one or two cars will need a quart of oil.”
“I wouldn’t say I’m starting a new career or anything like that, especially at my age, but who knows?” Pence continued. “The manager told me in a couple of years I could have a store of my own, and that would be a pretty decent salary pickup of around $25k a year, so I’ve got that to look forward to.”
Pence went on to explain that generally speaking he’s picking up about 36 hours a week but “there is plenty of hours open so I might grab some overtime if I need extra money some weeks.”
