(Warwick, N.Y.) Police officers executed a search warrant of E. Jean Carroll’s country cabin this week and found her in possession of an unsubstantiated claim about former President Donald Trump.
“What I can tell you is when officers executed the warrant, we were operating off of a tip from a local resident,” Orange County Sheriff Will Luntz told reporters. “Frankly, officers were shocked to find her with it. We were certain that she had already made all the claims she was going to make against the former president.
“What happens next is we confiscated the unsubstantiated claim and it is now in the hands of the prosecutor’s office,” Luntz continued. “She was handcuffed and briefly incarcerated before she was released later in the day on her own recognizance.”
Asked to describe the unsubstantiated claim, Luntz quickly wave off the question.
“I’m not gonna get into that,” he huffed. “But I will say this — of all the unsubstantiated claims she’s made so far, this one makes those look like child’s play.”
