(Tyler, Texas) A young feminist woman says she’s now “fairly certain” her life would be a lot cheaper if only she started letting the men she dates pay for everything.
“I’m not quite there yet, but I am certainly leaning that way, yeah,” Maria Young, 29, said. “I mean, it sure seems like that would be true, but I still have some things to work through.
“Nearly every guy I’ve been out with has tried to play the ‘gentleman’ role and, you know, pick up the tab no matter where we go or what we do,” Young continued. “Up to now, I’ve put my foot down and have said, ‘Hey, yo, I work too, ya know, I got it!’
“But that’s gotten harder to do in this economy, so it’s made me rethink things,” she added. “I’m pretty sure my life would be a lot cheaper if I just gave in and stopped all this feminism stuff. I think the cost savings would be immediate, actually.”
