(Manhattan, NYC) Former President Donald Trump’s legal team objected to Juror No. 5 during jury selection earlier in the day after he told his attorneys there was “something fishy about her.”
“The president leaned into us and said he got a bad feeling about her, something he couldn’t quite put his finger on, but that he just didn’t feel right,” spokeswoman and attorney Alina Habba told reporters.
“And sure enough, we looked at her social media posts from the last several years, and she has a definite anti-Trump bias — some would even say she was dangerously obsessed with him,” Habba continued. “It was an anger, a resentment, a — well, a derangement — with the former president. Spooky.”
Habba said that Judge Juan Merchan agreed that “something tells me she’s trying too hard to get on this jury” before dismissing her.
Juror No. 5 left in a huff, according to witnesses in the courtroom.
