(ATLANTA) Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis celebrated after learning from the judge overseeing her political prosecution of former President Trump ruled she was free to continue.
“As the judge has indicated by letting me off the hook after I really bent the truth regarding my love affair with prosecutor Nathan Wade, he is in full support of my very political prosecution of former President Trump,” Willis said in a post-decision statement.
“The rest of America should know that Republicans aren’t welcome around here and if that’s not apparent by now, then I guess I’ll have to continue to indict them and make y’all believers,” she noted further. “This judge, he knows what this is all about, and he’s just given us the green light here in Fulton County to continue to prosecute our political opponents with impunity.
“I applaud the judge for making this very correct decision,” Willis continued. “Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a former Republican president to put in jail.”
Willis’ remarks came shortly after Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee ruled it was now okay to lie to his face under oath.
