(Washington, D.C.) White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor refused during a press conference earlier in the day to say whether President Joe Biden still has a pulse.

“That’s a subject I cannot get into for reasons of national security, so they tell me,” O’Connor told reporters. “Suffice to say, though, the White House is running, the government is running, and the Office of the President of the United States still exists and is open.

“As to the matter of whether the president’s heart is still beating, I think that’s a question best left for the White House to answer because, even though I’m his personal physician, there are certain things I’m just not allowed to talk about,” he continued.

Asked whether it was just a coincidence that the White House Theater planned a showing of “Weekend at Bernies” on Saturday, O’Connor said he had no comment.
